As I was thinking about what to write about today I remembered that today would be 9/11 and I stopped my thoughts in their tracks. My first instinct was to think "maybe I should do some sort of memorial peace" but as I thought more about it I wondered how much longer will we be remembering the attacks on that day? Or more to the point how long with the people of this country remember it? Is there some sort of permanent remembrance or official pronouncement that needs to be made to permanently set the day apart?
While I do firmly believe that we where attacked by Islamic terrorists I think their motivation for the attack has been miss diagnosed. The way I see it they are just lashing out because they are jealous that American women are 10x hotter then anything they have back in the rat holes they come from.
But seriously the thing that drives me crazy about any talk about 9/11 is that republicans use it as justification for increased security, increased size to the government and so on. But my one question to this is if the republicans or anyone else for that matter truly cared about national security why the heck do they keep an open border to our south where any person can just walk on through?
I fully acknowledge the reality of evil people in this world who want to kill us for the life style we live. I believe there are many people in this very country who thought the attacks where a good thing because it brought American capitalism down a peg. If it was up to me when rebuilding the towers I would make them even higher and at the top I would put a giant middle finger pointing to the east.
Middle fingers directed at certain people doesn't sound very Christlike M.Galt.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how you are able to turn everything back to two issues: Illegal immigration, and big government. Quite a skill really.
So when do we see your yard signs encouraging people to vote for your senate seat?
The big government thing is clear James, most political problems are the result of bigger government because it takes away from personal liberty. The further we get away from what the founding fathers created for us not matter what the justification the more we become just like the rest of the world, the vary world they meant to set us apart from.
ReplyDeleteIllegal's is more of reaction to my living condition and seeing on a day to day bases the reality of the situation. I choose to not become part of white flight to protected suburbs to avoid reality living behind gated community walls and HOA's. With all the criminals who make it over the border on a day to day bases what is to stop jihad jonny? If the government was truly concerned about our national safety wouldn't they stop this influx?
I didn't say I disagree with you I was merely pointing out how significant those issues seem to be in your life. I bet you could even make the case that Burger King is part of the problem because they hire and encourage illegal employment and therefore we should not eat at Burger King. Is that a fair assumption?
ReplyDeleteM. Galt For Senate!!! Once McCain gets elected there will be an opening M. I would vote for you, but that is probably because we see so eye-to-eye on everything. I think that for everyone in this country illegal immigration is an issue but in states like Arizona, California, Texas, and New Mexico(the true border states) this is not only a problem, it is quite literally a crisis. Hospitals and schools closing, taxes moving higher and higher, and a federal government who gives no support. When 12 hospitals close in any other state due to illegal immigrants gaining free health care services any time they show up at the emergency room and the wait in the emergency room is over 4 hours at any time throughout the day then perhaps other states will be as concerned as we are.
