I purposefully missed the Prime Time Barack Info-mercial. The idea of hearing lies and empty promises for a half hour was not to appetizing. Instead I spent that time with my family enjoying our last few moments of democracy before we become a socialist nation.
But for those that did see it, this review talks about how this well thought out message still seemed to be missing some reality. Just goes to show that not all people buy the Barack way. I am actually glad that he spent a wad of campaign cash on saying nothing. There seemed to be this great build up, then nothing special.
I hope it didn't do much to sway the voters one way or the other to be perfectly honest. No one should be choosing the fate of this country to a one sided infomercial. They are okay for Sham-wow's and miracle blades, but not for the president. I did catch some of the spot on the internet. There seemed to be a spot where Barack already refers to himself as The President. It is subtle but it is there. As if it has already happened. What a cocky stance. Can this guy sink any lower. First socialism now narcissism. Any other ism's hiding up that mans sleeve?
For those that would like to watch I have included the video. Beware it is visual ipecac.

Can a problem fix a problem?
I hear so much about "change" in politics. We need to "change" the way things are done; "I am the candidate for change". Then we hear how these candidates are going to fix all these 'problems' in government. Elections seem to be loaded with a bunch of sugar coated hot air and no substance. Like a big giant bowl of whipped chocolate moose. Mmmm... chocolate moose.... sorry got distracted. And that is my point. It is so easy to get distracted by all the spoon fed sugar coated garbage that seems to erupt so effortlessly from the mouths of those desiring to be elected.I hear of so many people that are focusing on how Obama compares to F.D.R. as if that makes him some kind of savior to our countries problems. I look at Social Security and see what a nightmarish trap that has become in our country (thanks F.D.R.) and then I see how all the things that he set up are still around and will probably never go away no matter how much we may want them to. The government has us by the "special parts" as a result of such legislation and it ain't that comfortable. There are many of course that saw and still see Social Security as the savior of this country in a time of deep depression.
So I started to question if change and if all this talk about fixing problems isn't just making new problems. If they are causing new problems, then are they really definable as a solution. Sure things are not great right now, and I fully admit that I was one of the people that thought the government was supposed to do something about this financial crisis. I think I have now seen the error of my ways. Perhaps the government could have done something to help the problems. Instead they came up with this 700 Billion dollar (and growing) bailout package that has been like giving the bully a candy reward for beating up the little guys on campus. More people are being kicked out of their homes in this time of crisis because banks don't have to care thanks to this bailout. New problem from a supposed solution. There became no accountability and no responsibility for the banking industries own problems. In this case the more innocent of the parties involved (the general public) took the brunt of the punishment.
So now I ponder these issues: Barack Obama promises change, and within that general heading of change are things like a National Health Care system. Let's check logic here for a second: If the government is so crappy at running things that we feel there is a need for change, then why do people think the system will get better by having that same crummy government run the system? No choice in health care doesn't sound agreeable up against God given agency.
And perhaps someone would like to explain how taxing anyone puts more money in anyone's hands besides the government? Since when is it the governments job to decide who gets money and who doesn't? If you earn it legally and morally, you should be entitled to do what you want with it. High taxes take away a persons agency through elimination of options. If we are forced to give our money to the government then the people have no option. Sounds like the plan of hmmm... SATAN!?
This isn't about money either. Not to the latter-day saints it isn't. We know money doesn't go with us and that we should lay up treasures in heaven. It is about the principle of agency, and the principle of giving to Caesar's what is Caesar's as taught by Christ himself while on this earth. The government didn't earn that money, we did. Therefore, it's not "Caesar's". Then there is this desire to change things by abolishing the principle of accountability.
For example: To make abortion legal as pro-choice advocates push, we will then see a growing generation of sexually promiscuous individuals that feel there is no "punishment" (as Barack calls unplanned children) for their actions. However, we also know from a long standing history that such unchecked sexual freedom creates emotional problems, and STD's which can then be fixed through - you guessed it - a national health care system! Nice big circle of no reasons to do what's right. So in other words, we would then live in a country where a teenager could go and have sex, abort any potential child, and have the government pay for her treatment of any STD's... and who will support these treatments? The government of the people - or everyone else. That means I am going to be paying for teens to go have sex without consequences. I doubt the founding fathers felt that such things were the role of government.
So I leave you with this thought - try and follow. You can't fix a problem with a problem. Because some day that original problem that was being fixed by another problem will then come back when the 2nd problem is fixed out of necessity with another problem to fix that problem. At that point you will have a return of the original problem (as its fix has been fixed) and a new problem that was used to fix the 2nd problem. So now there are two problems (the first and the third) that will need to be fixed by a compounding number of problems.
It's like eating chocolate moose. Sure it may be good to satisfy your immediate craving or hunger, but it will also increase your cholesterol, add empty calories, and a good bit of fat. So for now you may feel a little better, but then as you look in the mirror there is now a new problem that takes a lot more effort to fix than if you never touched the moose in the first place.
To sum up, don't vote for Barack Obama. He is political chocolate moose.

The Anti-Vote
I have an idea that I think is worth some attention. Starting in the 2012 election I would like to see a nation-wide implementation of the Anti-Vote. What is that? Right now there is the choice for any number of candidates FOR a certain position. Either you vote for one candidate or the other. Why not have a third option? One where you are not endorsing one candidate but you are giving voice in opposition to the other candidate.
So if we have Barack and we don't want to become a socialist country but you also don't feel that any of the other people fit the bill you simply vote against Obama. That vote counts against him but not for someone you don't feel is qualified. In our country, our vote is our voice. I am feeling like my freedom of expression is limited to those who are running and not in opposition against one person in particular. You still only get one vote, but this way, our vote more accurately represents our feelings for the government that represents us.
What do you think? Maybe this is how we should vote at the M. Galt compound?

A message of twisting the truth not HATE.
It has been a while since we have heard anything from the good ol' boys at the KKK. So decided to go to their website to see if they are even still around. Just in case you were worried.... they are still alive. And get this they believe that they "are Bringing a Message of Hope and Deliverance to White Christian America! A Message of Love NOT Hate!"They are also the endorsing organization for the Knights Party USA. This is essentially the political arm used to convert the message of racial supremacy into a "legit" attempt to see America improve. They are attempting to appeal to disenfranchised members of ANY political party that wants to align themselves with a party designed to take back America. As we are probably all aware the organization is extremely pro-white people, but this just shows you how politics can make a spin on anything and you need to pay very close attention to what you hear from ANY political party or ANY candidate. This group calls themselves "racialists" not "racists". See how they are even trying to hide the evil they really represent.
Now, the application. There are somethings to know from one of our candidates with a shot at the presidency of this country. If you want to keep this country a democracy, then please pay attention and please be informed come election day. Know that your vote isn't always how it appears. The phrase "wolves in sheep's clothing" comes to mind.

"This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably." -Barack Obama
"Globalization and technology and automation all weaken the position of workers, and a strong government hand is needed to assure that wealth is distributed more equitably." -Barack Obama

Know your candidates
My wife, "crayon face", had this little audio "diddy" passed onto her. I loved it. It was from the Howard Stern show (don't worry, it's clean) but it was a man on the street asking people, just to see if they really knew what they were voting for and this is what he found.
After you listen, ask yourself how rampant you think this problem is.
10 percent of Obama supporters?
25 Percent?
50 Percent?
You tell me.

Lazy and Rich
I found this add/link pop up on a few different websites that I was visiting and it was like this guy was repeatedly asking me to write an article on him and comment back as to what it implies. This ad begs the question, is it possible to be lazy and RICH? Of course the answer lies in what your definition of the word rich is. Does being rich mean having a great deal of money? If so, then yes, you can be lazy and rich. But the poorer I become the more I realize that being rich is more than simply having wealth. In fact being truly rich has little to do with money at all. Often times it is first discovered in humble poverty.
To explain further what I mean: When a food is rich it can't be that way due to lack of substance. Rich foods are only the products of good ingredients put together in a quality manner that ends up in a superior creation. So it is with the labors of those that are truly rich or the richly blessed. This is not describing a person of mediocrity getting lucky. Being truly rich is never an accident. It must be created, not happened upon. It certainly takes more than a few clicks of a mouse on a web page.
In the above advertisement I don't see a man who is rich, I see a man who, between surveys, spends his time on objectionable websites in an effort to fill the pains of his life that food has not already attempted to heal. A man who needs something greater than money to satisfy his lust for acceptance and happiness.
But by all means go ahead and click, see where it takes you. As for me I would be willing to say that the more people attempt to draw water from empty wells such as this, the farther from their goal they will become.

They CAN do no wrong.

So over the years I have begun to notice that anything that socialists say their opposition does is exactly what they do. Voter fraud, can we count the number of fraudulent registrations that are going on in this country? A couple years ago Arizona passed a law requiring that to vote you needed to provide some forum of photo ID. Cries of opposition and oppression went up all over the place. I mean heaven forbid you prove who you are to vote right? Now the shocking realization comes that Obama’s main hommies ACORN have been falsifying registration all over the country. Right but its those rascally republicans that do that.
They claim Republicans play the race card, when in actuality they hold every card in the deck and flop those worn out rags down at every opportunity. And yet people still buy into it.
Then there are the cries of Republicans suppressing free speech. Then there is all the liberals out there burning down campaign signs of the opposition. Its okay for them to do it though because they are the right ones and it is alright because the ends justify the means.
How long though do we put up with this clear double standard? How long before Conservatives and libertarians roll over and accept the premise to arguments that is so clearly wrong? While my support for McCain would be characterized as hoping for a slow road to socialism VS. A Red October scenario. They draw me in to the arguments with these clearly ridicules attacks. I find myself siding up with McCain all the time but then have to stop and remind myself “McCain voted for the socialist bail out just like Obama.”

Okay now I am getting scared.

Please read and comment. I for one will never move to Chicago if this happens. How about punishing the offenders not separating the victims for starters. It seems that the Chicago school system is trying to cover for its failure to control the violence in their schools with the banner of Gay support. As I see it, if this new campus is, as they claim, supposed to protect ALL students who have been bullied in ANYway, why call it a pride campus?? Lots of people get picked on in school! Might as well transfer the entire school over!? Sounds like a pro-gay school to me. Which would be fine if it was a private school. Last I checked, the argument that the homosexual community is using to support gay marriage is that the government should be no respecter of persons with certain sexual affiliations and rights restricted by such preferences. Then this?! There certainly seems to be some ACLU logic behind this. You can't have it both ways people.
The notion that segregation will have made its way back into our lives would make Martin Luther King Jr. raise from the dead and have another dream. One were gay people keep their mouth shut about being gay and where they live the life they choose without having to shove it in everyone's face.
I mean really, how is having an all gay school (because that is how it will be seen as) going to DECREASE prejudices against them? The whole school is going to be one giant theater program. Are they going to have a football team? Who's going to play tight end? (Come on, you knew it was coming.) And if this idea happens, wait until the late night talk shows get a hold of this.... This is a huge cry for attention and a really bad idea to boot. To think that the person at the helm of their school system is referred to as an educator. Huh! What are you really teaching here?

An opinion worth listening to... NOT!
Yes the title is a resurrection of the mid 90's classic Wayne's World cadence, but I figure it was fitting since it seems like the president of the time the phrase was most popular, Hillary Clinton, has spoken out in favor of Barack Obama's handling of the economic crisis in this country. (read here)What handling? Last I checked he has done about as much for this economy as a beauty queen has about world peace. Based on my observation, the economy was fine till we had a democratic congress and that nut case Nancy Pelosi took over the helm. Why is it that as a country (or as a media establishment rather) there is all this pointing of the finger at our president who was there during the "good years" and HIS low approval rating, when the problems started with our democratic congress that has an even lower approval rating!?
Then there is Sean Hannity who sits in his radio station and claims to provide fair and balanced news reporting while also calling himself the right wing conservative poster child. Can we say conflict? So I ask....?
Who's opinion is worth listening to?
Is there merit in all the "news" outlets or do we simply need to not watch it at all for fear of being influenced one way or the other? Can we watch MSNBC and, in buffet fashion, pick only the parts that agree with our guts and set aside the "just ain't right parts"?
For me, I was glad to have general conference in a time where we need the calming and truly balanced words of inspired general authorities and especially our Prophet. It really pointed out to me that I have not really felt all that peaceful about any of the current candidates but when I hear inspired words, I have hope that this will all soon be over.

Garbage Pail Kids are cool AND Liberal.

I found this the other day and I thought it was kind of funny. Of course I am a fan of Sarah Palin, but props to the Garbage Pail fans for keeping the genre alive. I have not been able to confirm that this is an official GPK product, but it is pretty close. Having your own Garbage Pail Kid is like having Weird Al cover one of your songs. "It is an honor just to be mocked."
For those that thought the company was dead, you should go to Garbage Pail World online and be re-indoctrinated.
You can go waste time down memory lane and even build your own garbage pail kid. Its okay to do it at work and not feel guilty about wasting company dime... of course that is only if you work for AIG or for a company that the government has recently bailed you out for mediocrity and predatory lending practices. Then it seems like you can do whatever you want.

Which part of the equation are you?

So over the last few weeks I have not had time to blog as I have been preparing my family for a move to the wilderness to avoid the coming apocalypse we face as a country. Here is my plan, a capitalist commune where everyone can live as long as they agree to work. We will make or take no money just trade for what we each make. No united order here just deal for deal or make it yourself for what you need to live. Basically its what we used to call America a couple hounded years ago. The plans are going great, and if you want to live with us there we are actually accepting applications. No looters allowed though so get ready to work.
Here are some observations I have been making during the planing process.
#1 Can any Republican (or Republican in name only I.E. John McCain) ever vote against welfare and for personal responsibility again? For years they have been talking this responsibility line as a core value but as soon as their government creation stands to go under they are all for saving it from the consequences of its actions. This bail out will cost us way more then some single mom on welfare ever did.
#2 If I hear anyone talk about the greed on Wall Street again I may just slap them. Clearly the investors dealing with sub prime lending are greedy and they knew full well that they where playing with fire. However every home owner who refinanced their house taking the money out to buy a new SUV, Quads, pool or new hand bags is just as complicate in the whole mess. Did you all really think that your little card board houses on postage stamp lawns where worth half a million dollars?
I'll give you an example of the way it went down. Joe buys a house for $150,000.00. Gets a 30 year fixed rate and then two years later he hears his friends got their house reappraised and it magically went up in value 150%. Joe gets' to thinking. "I could refy my house for $350,00.00 take that money get a new truck, a trailer and some quads and roll it all over into the cost of my house." So he does it and lives large for a couple years as an instant millionaire in his own mind. That is until this all hit and he finds out his house is now worth what he originally paid and he is upside down. Now gas for that new truck hurts, now the quads don't have the same value they once did, now his construction job is downsized. Joe and everyone like him is just as guilty as Wall Street in this.
Did you all think you could get something for nothing? We all can't be Donald Trumps. We have had a false idea of growth and credit in this country for years just like the church has warned us.
#3 Now that the government essentially owns the titles on numerous houses out there who is again in the power position. That's right our dear sweet big brother. Call me crazy but all of this looks like a huge land grab by the government.
#4 The only glimmer of hope I have seen is Sarah Palin saying "I am not willing to accept that global warming is 100% man's fault." Counter that statement with the socialist candidate last night saying that one of the keys to defeating Russia is "for America to use less energy." When a person takes in less energy (food) they shrink. Our economy is no different so the commie in this race is advocating a weaker America. But he sure sounds good and I for one would feel a lot less guilty for being white for being white voting for him.

Okay now I'm mad!
Prepare for a bit of a rant here.... I couldn't help but read a recent something on AIG and not get a little irate. It should be known that the now infamous AIG, beneficiaries of an 85 billion dollar bailout from the Federal Government, are the current lien holders on my house.
So when I read this article I about jumped through the roof. Company execs were on a retreat in California at a resort and spa spending over 400,000 dollars of company money that they supposedly didn't have on massages and facials. Excuse me, but the last I checked these companies were supposed to be hurting right? Poor little banking industry and now this!? If I hear of another story like this about this company I think I might start demanding that they take me on those trips to the pamper palace since I am the one paying for it.
I am not sure what can be done to nail these creepy no good stealing CEO's and the schmucks that enable such backwards business practices. The last I checked that money was supposed to go to help the organization survive. To what good deed or rewardable business practice were these executives being treated to in this little trip out west? The company is going under, deep economic hard times right? Not exactly time to be having Helga and her wonder hands taking off a little of that stress with a deep tissue back rub! I see, the company is about to go under and such solid performance should be rewarded!? Am I missing something here or does this sound a little backwards?
It sure seems to me that if the American people had known about something like this they would have gladly let the company sink. Good thing there is a God who has the ability to see justice on so many levels for those that cause others to suffer for their greed.
Okay, now I'm done with the rant... for now.
UPDATE: In case you haven't heard, AIG was given another 37.8 Billion from the government on top of what they already got and squandered at resorts and the like. For more info read here.

Reflections on Conference
I hope you all, excuse me, y'all got a chance to watch general conference. I think it would be appropriate to open up the field for people to comment back on the parts that stuck out to them. Here are a few topics to get started on:
Gay Marriage or Defining marriage: Is it clearer as to why the church is attacking this the way they are?
Admonishes to save money in case of economic hard times reiterated several times... again. (Church is true)
Having hope and making the most of today even in times of great adversity and trial.
There are more but go for it one and all...

Should We Care Anymore?

So it seems that 13 years to the day after O.J. Simpson was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife he is faced by another important jury deliberation. Some of you may know that O.J. and some "friends" were in Las Vegas and were caught taking back some sports memorabilia that used to belong to Simpson before he had to sell it to pay off the civil suit that was successful against him for his role in his ex-wifes death. Apparently there is a kidnapping charge that could land him 5 years to life in prison. But what I want to know is... should we care anymore?
The O.J. trial was so big back in the day that they had it on in the classrooms at my high school... while we were in class! (Thank you California public school system). But it seems as if this time around people just don't care. In my opinion this seems like a bit of an Al Capone situation. Guilty of so many things but what they end up getting him o is tax evasion. Everybody knows O.J. was guilty of the crime 12 years ago but now it seems like he is finally going to get some justice and spend some punishment time in jail for it. Of course that is if he is convicted. Why do you think he didn't get his dream team of lawyers on this case too??? Any guesses? Could it be that he is flat broke?
In any case, keep your eyes on the news to see what happens here. Of course, taking the eternal perspective on things, he wasn't long for the celestial kingdom it seems like, so whether he gets his justice now and/or later is pretty irrelevant to me.

UPDATE:
He was found guilty. on all 12 charges brought against him. Happy 13th Acquittal-versary! Perhaps spending up to the rest of his life in prison is justice. Perhaps not. In any case, O.J. Simpson was found guilty of a crime and will most certainly do some serious prison time and not in some just minimum security thing. He might end up playing tight end in a prison football game. Does this mean he is out of the hall of fame now?

1-20-09: The End of an Error
Is it just me or does there seem to be more anticipation for George W. Bush to be out of office than there is to see who wins the election? I have noticed a good bit of 'Bush bashing' on bumper stickers and regardless of what you think of him as a president some of them are really creative. Here is a fun little gallery.

There are two that seem to upset me though. And they are not presidential related they are just liberal stupidity.

Who was the last "thinking liberal" we heard from? Oh yeah, Lindsey Lohan, the one that quoted Pamela Anderson as some eloquent established political authority. Then there was Sandra Bernhard, the "comedian" that called for the gang rape of a vice presidential candidate. Or perhaps the US representative that compared Obama to Jesus. We can't forget the catalog of "well thought out sound bites" from VP candidate Joe Biden.
These liberals think about as much as I crap - It's not that often which tends to cause a lot of other problems as a result.
