Time for change

Change is now one of those political dirty words. If you are Obama and you preach "change" you have to provide it. One could argue that he has brought change. Of course the old argument could be, is it change for the better?

Obama has increased the size of the government bureaucracy, primarily with the National Health Care bill. Some see this as a good thing, others do not. In any case, there has been a change.

Several other examples can be sighted that Obama has brought change. While he has not kept many of his campaign promises, specifically with regards to national debt, and war, arguably two of George W. Bush's worst issues as well, one thing has not changed.

Transparency.

Transparency was a huge deal by those who opposed George W. Bush. They felt he kept out secrets about the Iraq war, and other operations of government. It is not hard to see that with that National Health Care bill, Fast and Furious, and other programs, Obama has been terrible at being the transparent candidate many hoped he would be.

Is there a candidate that we can trust to be transparent, or at least a great deal more transparent than others have been in the past. While national security is important, how many things are really that threatening to national security that they keep the truth from the American people?

So, in this season of political campaigning and the great power grab known as "earning the vote of the American people" consider how important it is to you that you know what our government is doing and why they are doing it.

There will come a time when all men will know the actions of its government, and those who seek to be in the position of power will have to answer for their stewardship. I would be willing to say that while we are blessed with the right to vote, we will need to answer for our responsibility with regards to those votes.
